Blue Streak Interior Design
Josepha Rood
I should have known when I chose bicentennial toile curtains from the JC Penney catalog for my bedroom at 8 years old that I wanted to be an interior designer…and later, when I should have been doing masters’ homework but instead I was shopping for cabinet pulls until 3am? That should have been a clue. But I studied History and Information Management, and I worked in IT for a long time.
Then a few years ago, we did an extensive interior and exterior remodel of our home; after nearly a year, I wasn’t ready for it to end, and that’s when I began to suspect full-time interior design was my calling. I quit my job to try it out with an expert designer…and then I knew for sure. So I started Blue Streak Interior Design and went back to school.
While that may sound like a zigzag of a career path, there is a through-line of helping people figure out what they want and need, bringing teams together, being conscientious about communication and delivering on promises.
And now I’m thrilled to help people imagine what can be - to feel truly connected and happy in their homes and businesses every day.
